The Program Manager is a member of the scientific team responsible for managing multiple diagnostic development programs from discovery through to validation. This includes selection of biomarker candidates, assay development, co-ordinating internal and external resources, validation studies and meeting regulatory requirements. Important to the role is establishing and maintaining communications among and within the scientific and business teams. The position reports to the Chief Scientific Officer.

Specific responsibilities of the Program Manager include:
Coordinate the biomarker selection process including the management of two data curators (literature mining, public database searches, etc.), developing the biomarker selection process, monitoring and writing progress reports.
Manage external service providers including defining requirements, workplan development, and monitoring progress against milestones. Responsible for establishing quality control on results and building strong inter-company relationships.
Manage the development and assesment of assays for clinical verification and validation studies that meet regulatory requirements and submissions.
Facilitate upward, downward and lateral communications within the organization.
Ensure integration and communication between internal teams including the bioinformatics/IT team, regulatory team and business development team.
Obtain resources required for successful completion of milestones such as research tools (e.g. database licenses), samples for validation studies, establishment and maintainence of ties with clinical collaborators, developing or identifying appropropriate software (e.g. project management tools, pathway analysis tools, etc.) and identifying key project needs and providing solutions.
Establishment of SOP's within the company.
Qualifications:
At least a PhD in biological field, with at least 5 years of diagnostics development and laboratory experience in the industry.
Minimum 3 years of experience in program management, preferably with formal training.
Experience in developing multiplex assays and familiarity with ELISA, Luminex and or MRM proteomics.
Experience with the IVDMIA regulatory process.
Must be a self starter, multitask oriented.
Knowledge of oncology and /or CNS diseasees an asset.
Knowledge of genomic and proteomic technologies an asset.
Candidate must possess excellent computer skills. Experience with Excel, project management software, pathway analysis, data management and public resources such as the gene ontology, NCBI resources, pubmed, etc. is required.
Knowledge of diagnostic development, the use of biomarkers for disease detection, management, stratification and treatment selection an asset.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills; able to work effectively with a variety of people in a diverse workplace; adaptable to changing work requirements; and willing to multi-task; high degree of professional integrity.

The Oncology Molecular Biologist is a member of the scientific team responsible for mining the literature and internal proprietary data sets for oncology biomarkers with an emphasis on lung cancer.

The candidate will be responsible for assessing candidate biomarkers for relevance to cancer disease pathology. The candidate will be participating in a scientific team with the goal of developing a biomarker selection and prioritization strategy and then executing upon that strategy, applying biological and clinical knowledge of cancer, in particular lung cancer, to the assessment of disease biomarkers. The candidate will be using documentation and data management software supporting the oncology disease biomarker selection process and using resources and tools such as Ingenuity, pubmed, cancer genome atlas, Gene Ontology, OMIM, iHOP, Entrez Gene, etc. for assessing candidate biomarkers of cancer disease. Due to the early stage of the Company, the candidate with have significant input on the development of the scientific process.
A Ph.D. in molecular biology with a focus on oncology is required. Experience in the clinical study of oncology, especially lung cancer, is an enormous asset. Experience working in the biotech industry is desirable. Knowledge of genomic and/or proteomic biotechnologies desirable but not required.
Computer skills must be excellent. Experience with Excel, pathway analysis, data management and public resources such as the gene ontology, NCBI resources, pubmed, etc. required.
Knowledge of diagnostic development, the use of biomarkers for disease detection, management, stratification and treatment selection would be an asset. The ability to perform intellectual property searches on candidate biomarkers would be advantageous. Must have good interpersonal and communications skills; able to work effectively with a variety of people in a diverse workplace; adaptable to changing work requirements; and willing to multi-task; high degree of professional integrity.
